In this Cruise collection, Maria Grazia celebrated the intersection of Mediterranean, European and African culture, as she mentioned in one of the Instagram Stories she wanted the design to be far from European style and closer to the authentic African Culture. For that, the brand worked with local artisans, Uniwax, a company in the Ivory Coast to reinterpret two of the House’s signature motifs: toile de Jouy and tarot cards; however, Grace Wales Bonner and Mickalene Thomas also lent their own design touches to the iconic skirt and bar jacket silhouette.
The collection was presented in Marrakech, taking al Badi Palace as a backdrop for the show.
Morocco is a magical city, full of history, colors, spices, souks, everything is enchanting and the Dior fashion show made the city on everyone’s bucket list.
I loved the Cruise Collection the colors, the cuts and the craftsmanship behind the story that aria Grazia wanted to tell, but today I am sharing with you My Favorite looks from this Collection:
After this fashion show I am really planning on going to Marrakesh this summer, What is your summer destination?
